Written for the 7th grade classes at Trailridge Middle School, this piece features sempre pizzicato with fun and bouncy rhythms and entirely diatonic to D Major. It's a very catchy tune that your students will have stuck in their heads!
Written for the 7th grade classes at Trailridge Middle School, this piece was inspired by a popular toy brand that features plush creatures with hyper realistic teeth. I wrote the horror movie soundtrack that would go with these terrifying... I MEAN... cute... cuddly... things... This piece features lots of changes between C and C# and G and G#. Extensions are featured on cello as well as high 3's. The perfect piece for Halloween or any time of the year you want to be spooky!
Written for the 8th grade classes at Trailridge Middle School, this piece was inspired by the jingles that play before NFL Football games. I wanted to try my hand at creating an intense theme song that would go along very nicely with a primetime matchup! This piece features some shifting for violins and basses and features driving eighth note rhythms and syncopation to match the fierce competition that unfolds with each score! Perfect for football season, or for the season when you miss football
This piece was written shortly after I graduated college, but it made me imagine a scene of a brave knight returning home after a long quest. This piece in A minor features the Dorian mode prominently with lots of F-sharps. Fast driving parts are contrasted with slower half note sections. There is also a section featuring the bass! This piece would be great at the end of the school year to showcase progress made!
Revolution is a piece about power. Who has power? What has power over us? Power can often consume us and make us feel small and insignificant. There are many factors in life that we cannot control, but one not among them is our own mind. We have the power to control our thoughts and feelings. We can control how we react to bald-faced lies and bloated idiocracy. In essence this piece is about growing to change one’s mindset and to see the joy in life rather than the misery.
This is a simple piece meant to introduce 3/4 time signature and G string notes. It is a great piece for students in their 1st year of instruction and features a repetitive theme that all instruments get to play. Join in the Autumn festivities!
